This Vehicle Produces Desire - e+l

This Vehicle Produces Desire is a meditation on the truck and the trucker as a slippery signifier. Oscillating between the pure functionality of the movement of goods and the poetics of being on the road, trucking generates an array of mythologies that in turn are tied to concrete policies regarding trade. The exhibition included video interviews with truckers from the US, Europe and Brazil discussing life on the road and the business of trucking.

This Vehicle Produces Desire - e+l

An animation work that playfully represents an array of dynamics between trucking and trade was projected during the exhibition in a project space housed in an old petrol station.

Active Trucking

The exhibition in Berlin was an extension of research and performative interventions related to the cultures of trucking (such as this cardboard sculpture intervention in downtown L.A.) and included documentation from the earlier work.

Active Trucking

The 2007 collaboration took the form of bumper stickers, cardboard sculptures, recycling between L.A. and Tijuana and the delivery of Mexican newspapers to assorted American doorsteps.
